Celebrating Matariki

Room 6 have been learning about Matariki.  We read myths and then wrote our own.  Here are some.  You can read other people's myths by going to their blog.

Drumming Show

During Term 1 we studied “Art Through The Decades”.  So far we have inquired into the 60’s and the 1920’s.  As part of our inquiry we learnt how to do tie dying.  Our t-shirts look amazing.  

Team Building Day

On Thursday 6th April the Senior School took part in a Team Building Day.  We had such fun playing Silly Games, Problem Solving and working together as a team.  A shared lunch was a highlight of the day even if it did rain.  Swimming, Octopus Tag and Jump Rope rounded out an excellent day of fun, togetherness and learning to work as a team.

Room 6 talked about what it is to be a successful learner.  We decided that we would work together like we are rowing in the same direction in a Waka.  We then drew shapes representing our personalities and what we thought was a successful learner.  We put all of these thoughts into the Waka.
